DECEMBER 2017 TRANSITS AND NEWS
DIFFICULT BEGINNINGS GREAT ENDINGS
This month we can experience quite a few challenges as Mercury stations and retrogrades throughout the Month.
Mercury is all about communication, travel and movement, he is also the ruler of tricksters and thieves.
For many holiday plans may change, I know of some who have booked a holiday in Indonesia, well Mercury retrograding in a fire sign and the volcano at Mount Agung is spewing out ash. Change of plan needed here…watch this spot.
Mercury is retrograding in Sagittarius the sign of expansive uncontrolled energy, Mercury behaves badly in this sign when direct in motion, whilst retrograde Mercury will behave extremely badly.
Impatient driving, not obeying the rules of the road and causing havoc in general seems to be name of the game. We really need to be aware of pitfalls and tricky situations this month.
As Mercury is the communicator, people including yourself will find it very difficult to be diplomatic, in fact we may surprise ourselves with what comes out our mouths. It is almost impossible not to be argumentative and aggressive when in a debate.
As its holiday season and many of us are going to be on the road, just make sure all is good with your motor vehicles, if not problems that go wrong with your engine, burst tires etc could delay your trip, and you may even find yourself stranded in a strange town waiting for parts. Don’t speed and be aware of potholes.
As for buying gifts, oh boy I feel sorry for the stores as they will see more returns than ever this holiday season. My advice is buy a gift that can be returned or give a voucher that can be spent when Mercury is direct in January.
On the bright side it is a good time to reflect on how you can expand your business, grow spiritually, and decide what it is you wish to study.
On the 10th Mars will ingress into Scorpio where he feels at home. The action planet becomes focused and fixed on transforming where ever Scorpio is in your chart. We may find that deep emotional issues can come to the fore.
It will provide us with a strong determination to change certain areas of our lives. But it will also uncover a stubbornness that can be debilitating. Rather turn any stubborn behaviour into a focused intent to transform certain area of your life.
If you are not happy, acknowledge this as Mars in Scorpio can uncover some deeply hidden emotions, do not be surprised if you find people around you these holidays to be over emotional and somewhat sulky. Remember it is their stuff and they need to work through it in order to transform what is disturbing them.
Whilst Mars is in Scorpio it will connect with every planet in your chart and this will bring about a powerful need to take control of that area of your life and transform it for the better, if you cannot salvage a situation then let it go.
Mars in Scorpio can bring about a perceptive magnetic energy to most, but here is a warning as this energy can boost trickster’s ability to con us fairly easily. Avoid con artists at all costs!
On the 22nd Saturn moves into Capricorn…this has been a transit we have been looking forward to for over 28 years.
Saturn is a very strict and powerful planet, in Capricorn a sign that is about structure, we can expect to see more structure and discipline especially amongst those of authority.
Mining is certainly a big business and ruled by Saturn, especially coal mining. We will begin to see things developing in a more positive light in this arena. Mines in general should be looking at methods or restructuring in a positive focused and practical manner.
Leaders and authority figures will be brought into line; bad behaviour will cause a tumble from grace.
Companies and the building trade have an opportunity to grow with this strong Saturn in Capricorn energy.
Personally it is a great time to take control of your life, bring positive structure into your life. You are the authority of your own path in this lifetime. Where ever Saturn is transiting in your chart is where you have the ability to create strong successful and positive growth.
Take charge of your life, be professional and determined, focus on your goal, and make it happen. What happened in your life about 28 -29 years ago? Go back and reflect on the lessons learnt then, this time round you have the chance to become stronger and growth is certainly on the cards…yours for the taking.
I personally am truly excited about this transit when applied to your daily routine and attitude; only positive things can come from this. We will see the fall of leaders and positive structure happening around us.
Many bad and corrupt people of authority can be very afraid of this transit as it will take them out, making room for more capable structured leaders
So this is a Month of both good and bad, the bad can be avoided and the good embraced.

MEDICALLY SPEAKING
Well this holiday season it is always wise to monitor your overindulgent tendancys. But as most of us are already planning many parties and wonderful dinners we do need to be aware of the morning after the night before…so as we know very little about what causes a hangover there is some research on this subject.
Some theories say that alcohol disrupts biological rhythms; others that alcohol withdrawal is the culprit hence the morning after shot, which actually works.
Research suggests that impurities produced when alcohol is distilled can make you feel nauseous. Sugars found in can cause nausea and a sugar drop, remember that the sweeter the drink, the higher the level of impurities. Malt liquors and red wine are especially toxic.
Now that headache more often than not comes from dehydration as alcohol is a natural diuretic. The solution is to have a glass of water before you have a glass of alcohol…this may even cause you to cut back a bit on the alcohol intake.
Early research has shown that consuming a combination of ginger, tangerine pith, and brown sugar before drinking decreases nausea and vomiting. I know it works in pregnancy.
Fill up the morning after, eat breakfast! Electrolytes in food help replenish a dehydrated system and get calories back into your body. But go easy. While a greasy meal before drinking may help, a hangover needs foods that are easy to digest, like toast and cereal. Some believe that eating burnt toast will help, with the charred carbon crust filtering out impurities much like a carbon water filter.
For now there’s only one sure fire way to avoid a hangover: Don’t drink…ha ha I guess that is not a nice piece of advice.
I wish you all a wonderful and safe holiday season, please be kind to each other, stay safe and just be happy, avoid sad sacks. If things do not go to plan, then adapt, it is far healthier than indulging in a pity party.
