HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON – WHO IS SHE REALLY?

Hillary Clinton has 4 personal planets in the Eastern hemisphere of her chart which means she is quite an independent person. There are only3 personal planets in the Western hemisphere which means that, although she does need people in certain areas of her life, she can cope very well on her own.

She has 5 planets above the horizon which means a life lived in the public eye.With only 2 planets below the horizon she does have her secrets and things that are very personal to her as do most people.

Three of her planets in the East are in Scorpio, a fixed feminine water sign. Jupiter is the exception in her eastern planets because it is in Sagittarius (mutable fire masculine) in the 1^st house at 0 degrees.The Moon is in feminine mutable Pisces (water) in the 4^th house and Saturn and Mars are in Leo (fixed masculine fire) in her 9^th house of higher learning, spirituality and long journeys. Mars and Pluto are conjunct. This is a very powerful conjunction as Pluto is a source of power in a natal chart and Mars signifies pure action.

Hillary’s chart shows a strong water influence (Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon) which signifies emotions, neediness, moodiness and intensity of feelings. The other element that dominates her chart is fire because her Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars are all in fire signs. She could be described in terms of temperament as hot and moist like the chillies or hot sauce she eats all the time in order, she says, to maintain her health and keep her immune system strong.

She is a double Scorpio (Scorpio Sun and Scorpio Ascendant) which suggests a very intense,secretive person who can also be very controlling because Scorpio is fixed water. Hillary is not intimidated by anything and is very definite about what she wants. She is also very much her own person and reputedly refused to marry Bill Clinton several times because she had a promising political career of her own. She was worried that marriage would cause her to lose her separate identity and that her personal accomplishments would always be viewed in her husband’s shadow. She used her surname in preference to that of Clinton for a number of years. At the time that Bill Clinton was first elected President, his wife was successfully practising law and from 1978 until they entered the White House, Hillary earned a higher salary than he did. In 1979 she became the first woman to be appointed as a full partner of Rose Law Firm. This was quite an achievement because in those days men very much dominated big business and the legal profession.

As a double Scorpio she will never give up (scorpions with their large pincers never let go). She would make a formidable and implacable opponent.Perhaps this is why she elected to stay married to Bill despite the pain he caused her. Hillary is not afraid to get her hands dirty and for many years was very active in child advocacy and the interests of children. She is a deep person who ends up revealing her Mercury and Venus to the public even though she may not necessarily be aware of this herself. She initially vehemently denied the accusations of Bill Clinton’s sexual indiscretions with Monica Lewinsky as lies by right wing organisations until he came clean. She was apparently enraged by her husband’s sexual indiscretion and lack of self-control.It’s hard to hide when you have 5 personal planets above the horizon.Her 12^th House Venus rules her seventh house of Taurus and so her spouse’s sexual sins and secrets could be her undoing, given her aspirations to the high office of the presidency of the United States. Ironically enough, her overall public approval ratings in the wake of the Lewinsky revelations were the highest they have ever been.

In her chart, the Sun, Venus and Mercury are all in the 12^th house of self-undoing, institutions, and karma and so is her Chiron. Her wound can therefore also be her own undoing and she can be wounded by secrets and secret enemies. It is difficult to keep secrets when the Sun is in the 12^th house bringing hidden things to light.Her Mars/Pluto conjunction in the house of Leo which is intercepted are hidden from public view to some extent because Cancer is on the cusp of the 9^th house. This conjunction can make her extremely focused and single-minded. In this conjunction she has a secret dynamo in her 9^th house that gives her enormous drive in matters of higher learning and spirituality.

Mercury rules her 10^th house of career and it is in Scorpio in the 12^th house which means that she has an intense, analytical but secretive approach to her career. Her Saturn in Leo is in its detriment and in a cadent house has little power to act. It rules her intercepted Aquarius in the 3^rd house of communication and daily routine and Capricorn which is the sign of her third house. Saturn squares her 12^th house Mercury which is stationed “on her head”. A stationary Mercury is not a happy Mercury. It is frustrated because Mercury is the fastest and most mobile planet of them all.In her chart, Mercury the planet of intellect and service is in a place of secrets and large institutions which suggests high office in that biggest of all institutions, government. She is privy to many institutional secrets but cannot always keep them as evidenced by her carelessness with her emails.

Jupiter is Hillary herself as it features prominently in Sagittarius, the sign of its rulership, in her first house and it also rules her second house because Sagittarius is on the cusp of her second house. Hilary demonstrated a considerable ability to make money not only with her legal practice but also in 1978 and 1979 when she made a spectacular profit from trading cattle futures. Her initial investment of $1000 generated almost $100 000 when she stopped trading after 10 months. She is lucky, and this luck feeds into her resources. Mercury in Scorpio likes to get to the bottom of things and can be a strategic thinker. Those with Mercury in Scorpio have an intense need to win.

Maybe this is why Donald Trump has demonstrated a marked reluctance to accept her challenge to join her in the public presidential debates. By all accounts he doesn’t do these well. He is not nearly as technically knowledgeable or experienced as Hillary who has many years of government and political service to her name. Mercury in Scorpio also lacks tact and Hillary has demonstrated this on more than one occasion.

With her Moon in Pisces in the 4^th house Hillary has deep feelings about her country and her foundations. She has a boundless need to be loved and to feel secure. She is likely to be very intuitive when it comes to children and other 5^th house things like speculation and romance. The Moon in Pisces is a dreamer and idealist and is touched by human suffering. This is the most personal and private place in Hillary’s chart and therefore she is unable to express it in public.

The star Nunki is conjunct her natal Sun and her Mercury within 1 degree of orb. Nunkiis a 2.1 magnitude star. With the Sun, it is associated with influential public position and with Mercury it is associated with high government position, popular criticism and wealth. Jupiter is conjunct the star Rasalgethi which can mean a respect for the natural order and a desire or striving for balance as well as a desire to serve something greater than oneself.

Hillary Rodham Clinton may not be a very popular person due in no small part to the dominance of Scorpio in her chart. She will always have that unpleasant sting, that fixity of purpose which the world does not receive very well. She will always have her secrets, her intensity and drive and she will always be her own person. In a woman especially, these qualities are seldom appreciated by society. However, she has a well-hidden compassionate and sensitive side to her that means she cares about children’s interests and strongly believes in her career and her democratic ideals. She has endured public pain at the hands of her husband and yet she has not left him. In her life, she has shown character and determination. Perhaps she has what it takes to be the first female president of the most powerful nation on earth.
